Curriculum
What you will learn, stage by stage
Month 1 · Design Foundations & Real Research
How design decisions actually get made: usability heuristics, cognitive laws, and the anatomy of good interfaces. You run your first real user interviews in week two — planning, consent, moderation and note-taking — and synthesise them into insights and a problem statement. Figma from zero: frames, auto layout, your first wireframes. Deliverable: a researched, tested problem definition and low-fi flows.
Month 2 · Information Architecture & Interaction Design
Structuring products people can navigate: IA models, card sorting, user flows and task analysis. Interaction patterns and their failure modes — forms, navigation, search, onboarding. Edge cases, empty states and error design taught as first-class craft. Deliverable: complete mid-fi flows for your project, usability-tested with five real participants and iterated on evidence.
Month 3 · Visual Design & UI Systems
Typography, colour theory, spacing, grids and visual hierarchy — drilled, not just described. Component thinking in Figma: variants, properties, styles and your first mini design system. WCAG accessibility built into every screen: contrast, touch targets, focus states. Deliverable: high-fidelity screens on a consistent system that survives a professional design critique.
Month 4 · Prototyping, Testing & AI-Augmented Workflow
Advanced prototyping and micro-interactions; moderated usability testing with severity-rated findings; iteration discipline. Working with AI as a design accelerator — research synthesis, ideation, production — with judgement kept human. Developer handoff through Dev Mode: specs engineers respect. Deliverable: a tested, iterated, handoff-ready product flow.
Month 5 · Capstone & Portfolio Construction
Your capstone comes together as a professional case study: problem → evidence → decisions → outcome. Portfolio craft: what hiring managers scan in 90 seconds, honest storytelling, NDA-safe presentation. Resume, LinkedIn and interview narrative built alongside. Deliverable: two interview-grade case studies, live portfolio and application kit.
Month 6 · Jury, Interview Training & Placement Drive
Final portfolio defence before a jury of practising designers — the certificate is earned here, not by attendance. Mock interviews (portfolio walkthrough, whiteboard, HR rounds) with recorded feedback. Placement sprint into the hiring network: applications, referrals, hiring showcases. I have zero design background. Can I still join?
Yes. This programme is built to take you from zero design experience to a job-ready portfolio — Stage 1 assumes no prior knowledge, and roughly 60% of learners come from non-design fields.

How many hours a week do I need?
