What you will learn, stage by stage
Week 1 · The AI Design Landscape
How AI products actually fail users; a designer's working model of LLMs (no math); structured teardowns of leading copilots and chat products. You select the AI feature brief you'll carry through the course.
Week 2 · Core AI Interaction Patterns
Prompt and input affordances, response streaming, citations, confidence display; chat, copilot and agent pattern languages. Design your feature's happy path to professional fidelity.
Week 3 · Trust, Failure & Safety
Hallucination and error states, empty and loading states for probabilistic systems, human handoff, transparency without dark patterns. Redesign your flows for the moments AI gets it wrong.
Week 4 · AI as Your Design Accelerator
AI-augmented research synthesis, ideation and production workflows; prompt craft as a design skill; where judgement must stay human. Rebuild a full workflow with measurable time savings.
Week 5 · Prototype & Test with Real Users
Build a working prototype of your AI feature and run moderated tests; measure trust and comprehension, not just task success; iterate on evidence.
Week 6 · Ship-Ready & Showcase
Final iteration, ethics-and-trust review, and presentation of the complete feature to the cohort and an AI product design lead. Deliverable: a portfolio-grade AI product case study — the piece that gets AI-era interviews.
